Your Rights in respect of the processing

How do we ensure that your data remains secure

At Richard Winterton Auctioneers Ltd, we are committed to ensuring that your personal data is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place appropriate technical, physical and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.

The information and data we hold about you stays within the European Union at all times.   

We do not share your information with any other party

CCTV

We have installed CCTV systems in areas used by members of the public, for the purposes of public and staff safety and crime prevention and detection. CCTV is also installed on the outside of our building for the purposes of monitoring building security and crime prevention and detection.

In all locations, signs are displayed notifying you that CCTV is in operation and providing details of who to contact for further information about the scheme.

We hold personal data from the CCTV system for a period of 8 weeks after which time the system automatically overwrites it. Where incidents are brought to our attention then personal data captured may be held for a longer period, in particular where offences have been reported and are under investigation.

You have the right to see CCTV images of yourself and be provided with a copy of the images in accordance with the codes of practice issued by the Information Commissioner.

We will only disclose images and audio to other authorised bodies who intend to use it for the purposes stated above.

Data Processors

Data processors are third parties who provide elements of our service for us or who provide us with specialist technical support. We have contracts in place with our data processors. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will not share your personal information with any organisation apart from us and they will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct.

IT Support – In order to ensure our data is secure we use third party expertise to provide technical support to our IT Network and infrastructure.  Our IT Partner is Newline ASP. Their access to our infrastructure is strictly for maintenance and support purposes and they do not process any personal information. The privacy notice for Newline ASP can be viewed here.
